About The Askren Wrestling Academy

Where excellence in skills, character and discipline are forged

A safe and challenging environment within a state-of-the-art facility

Since it’s opening in April 2011, Askren Wrestling Academy continues to have a profound impact on wrestling. The Askren Wrestling Academy will prepare members to achieve success at the highest levels of Collegiate and International wrestling and will strive to develop a life-long passion for the sport. This may mean foregoing temporary success. Long term success will be accomplished through the development of mental toughness, persistence, a strong work-ethic and by encouraging initiative and innovation. These things will be stressed because they are the foundations for long term success in wrestling and in life.

Meet The Coaches

The AWA wrestling team is dedicated to helping young wrestlers achieve their goals.

Well rounded wrestling will be the objective of the coaching staff, which means learning every technique possible and competing with focus and intensity from whistle to whistle.

Currently Askren Wrestling Academy runs 6 locations: Lake Country location, North Shore location, Green Bay location, Advance (Madison) location, South Shore (Franklin) location, and our AWA Central location.

“It’s hard to put into words what Coach (Mesenbrink) can do for you. It’s something you only truly understand if you’ve had the privilege of being coached by him. He gives you an edge; you just know you’re going to win because you’re better prepared.”
