AWA Opens in Wisconsin Rapids!!!
Askren Wrestling Academy is excited to announce that on August 8th we will be opening our newest location, AWA Central Wisconsin, in Wisconsin Rapids. AWA will be occupying the building at 3039 HWY 73 N, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54495 which previously housed the Beast Cage. “It’s a tremendous opportunity to open up in an area that is so rich in wrestling history! We are looking to bring some of the AWA flavor to the area to continue to help kids in the area reach the next level.” said AWA Founder Ben Askren.
AWA Central WI will be operated by Weston Wichman. Weston was an AWA athlete during his HS days at Johnson Creek HS before moving on to University of Tennessee-Chattanooga where he was a 3 year starter and team Captain his senior year. “I know AWA helped develop my love for the sport of wrestling, I can’t wait to do the same for a ton of kids in Central Wisconsin. Wrestling has been something I have been passionate about for the last decade of my life, I can’t wait to share that passion through coaching.” said Wichman. The Beast Cage has been operated for the last few years by Brian Back “It has been awesome to give back to the sport I love, but I felt like it was a good time to move on and I’m excited to help bring AWA to Central Wisconsin” said Brian.
