This week choosing just one topic was a hard thing to do. Big tournaments bring deficiencies front and center and require analysis. Hundreds of ideas and questions ran through my head and with only three wrestlers entered in the tournament I had plenty of free time. I decided on writing about a dilemma I had when choosing what order to teach… What should be taught first? What is essential? Though I never reached a conclusion, it lead me to reframed my schema for pushing the pace in matches. Condition is one of the greatest tools that you can possess as a wrestler, but it seems too often the ability to use it escapes us.

Wrestling with Curiosity

It is Monday morning and I have been melding over many issues and thoughts from this past weekend’s tournament. I was going to write about having the end in mind and wrestling with the intent on improving aspects of your wrestling to prepare for the end. When I sat down to write though, the thought of why I love wrestling came to me. Why am I hooked? The answer is because I’m curious. I am playing the master game of wrestling. I ask why, what and how? They are my coaches.

Weighing In

Okay, so this is going to be my very first blog and to tell the truth I’ve been procrastinating like I have done so often when writing. Whether it be e-mails or more often school papers I have had an aversion to writing. I believe it’s because I’m not so skilled and I always get criticized for not using paragraphs and gathering my thoughts fully. I apologize for my inability and hopefully after a while I will improve.
